Chest of single-plank construction,end panels shaped at the base to form feet. The front has boldly carved arcaded and horizontal moulding. Original hinges and lockplate. Nail jointed construction. Single plank lid has later repair to front. Iron straps have been used on inside of chest to join split in left end panel. Makers mark 'EG' carved on left-end panel.
