Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with convex top, the flange and underside of the lid obscured by the frame; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Charity' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a cornfield setting with two seated female figures holding three naked children with sheaves of corn, a jug, a bowl and a hayrake around them, any border which may enclose the print is obscured by the frame. The glaze crazed. The pot-lid mounted for display in a close-fitting circular wooden frame painted black, a circular piece of torn brown card is stuck across the bottom of the frame.
