Circular plate, thickly potted, foot ring, smooth shallow well, very broad rim. White body covered in a thick silky matt glaze, crazed. Centre decorated with an underglaze black, solid tube lined spiral decreasing in thickness from the inside out. Inner part of exterior edge of spiral fathered. Smoke brown painting on white ground in centre of spiral. Faint grey painted bands visible underglaze on rim. Some blue black smudging especially on outer part of spiral and on underside, some brown staining at ends of crazing on rim.
