Pennanular rings of various forms
Copies of gold penannular examples in the Dublin Museum. In its simplest form, the penannular bracelet was a rod or wire closed round the wrist. For artistic effect, the ends were often expanded into conical knobs; and in a further development, these assumed a cul-shaped form, sometimes of exaggerated size and decorated.
