Roman copper alloy lorica segmentata tie ring
This tie-ring has a neatly modelled basal rib which extends beyond the line of the circle at the point of junction. The shaft consists of an upper, slightly flared, facetted portion, of polygonal cross-section, with a narrowing shaft of circular cross-section below. Thus the fitting incorporates fetures of both categories 1 and 2. It is more elegantly modelled than other tie-rings from this site.
