Cup, earthenware, standing on a rounded waisted foot, bell-shaped body with everted lip-rim, a slightly raised line around the lower body, ogee-style handle curving downwards from a sharp top point with an outer spur to the lower handle; transfer-printed in black with to one side of the exterior of the bowl a rural scene showing a figure on horseback crossing a humpbacked bridge, cattle stand in a stream in the foreground, in the background is a village and distant mountains, to the other side a scene showing a boat on an expanse of water surrounded by buildings and hills, a fishing figure to one side of the scene, to the interior bottom of the bowl a small scene showing in the foreground a small fishing figuire and in the background a building on an outcrop of land across an expanse of water with boats, black bands to the interior sides of the bowl and the interior lip-rim, a running border to the handle of chevrons and circles.
