Ovoid macehead, featuring geometric facetted decoration.
Finely worked flint macehead, 3000-2500 BCE. The fine design on this macehead was carefully ground into the flint over hundreds of hours using tools made of stone.

Notes: Found by a labourer gathering wood on Maesmawr Estate. Presented to the Scottish Antiquaries by the Rev. E.L.Barnwell in 1864 after he had acquired it in 1859.
