Cream jug
Cream jug, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; standing on a rectangular foot rim, bulging sides to shoulder, concave curve to lip, with a wide elongated spout; high loop handle with a thumb spur and double ridge collar moulding in lower part of handle; below shoulder, painted in enamel with an Empire-style pattern of continuous scrolling leaves in green and iron red, with gilt stems bearing pink and blue convolvulus flowers; around neck, a border of gilt leaves and twigs, and inside spout a gilt anthemion with seaweed fronds; gilt bands to the foot rim, lip, and shoulder, and gilt on edge of handle.
