Inkstand with two ink wells and covers, hard-paste porcelain, oval shape, standing on an everted rim, with moulded rope border to foot and lip, straight sides, large shaped opening at front, three pen holes and two wells behind, each well a cylindrical shape (one perhaps not original) with domed covers; outer sides decorated with three portraits in oval reserves, front portrait a lady in polychrome enamels with gilt outline border, garland of green foliage above, two monochrome brown portraits to each side also with foliate garlands, gilt borders to foot and around lip, gilding to handle, covers of wells decorated with scattered sprigs and gilt border to rim.
