Jug and cover
Jug, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded domed foot, bulbous lower body sloping sharply inwards at the shoulder to a cylindrical neck with thickly rounded lip-rim, a raised moulded foliate pattern around the lower body, curving flutes around the neck, beak spout with foliate moulding to the underside, high loop handle curling over above the upper terminal and with a wide foliate moulded lower terminal, domed cover with bud-shaped finial and foliate moulding around the base of the finial; to either side of the exterior body of the jug two rectangular panels enclosed by gilt borders and finely painted in pink, black and green enamels with coastal scenes showing sailing boats, figures, buildings and trees, around the rest of the exterior body of the jug, the neck and the top of the cover scattered sprigs of forget-me-nots in blue and green enamels, the flutes to the neck painted in pink enamel and gilt, gilt bands around the foot-rim, shoulder and lip-rim of the jug and the rim of the cover, the foliate moulding to the lower body of the jug, the spout, the handle, the finial and the foliate moulding on the cover all picked out in gilt.
