Hat
Velvet hat with head and feathers of a bird of paradise dyed black. Worn about 1914-20. The pile of the velvet is silk, ground weave probably cellulosic and synthetic lining. The bird has a wire going through its left nostril and has glass eyes which are attached to a metal pin that secures them in place. The hat is secured on the head with an elastic band.
