Punch-bowl

Wedgwood, Josiah ((1730 - 1795))
Pardoe, Thomas (1770-1823)

Large bowl, on slightly waisted and flared foot. Red-brown enamel rim and line around ridge on foot. Exterior painted with a continuous band of pendant leaves, joined by arcades, with dots in between, all in sepia. Interior with ornate border in famille rose palette of leaves in iron-red, joined by alternating panels of scales, cross-hatching, callioute and chevrons in either pink or red; and with stylised flowers, leaves and berries in blue, yellow, green and pink.
