Seal impression: Chester
A representation of the city’s embattled castle, enclosed by walls of masonry broken by six towers, and with central gateway, the portcullis half-closed. (On fine impressions, the portal also has closed folding-doors). In field above, a lion crowned passant guardant of ENGLAND, between two garbs of CHESTER.
