Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Dessert dish, round, soft-paste porcelain, good clear translucency, lustrous glaze with grit adhering on the underside, bubbled at the shallow foot ring, the rim moulded in six small and six large lobes; painted in the centre with three three pink roses in green foliage, two small butterflies and a ladybird at 6, 9 and 10 o clock to conceal glaze flaws, three further butterflies, a ladybird and a catterpillar on the underside, the rim reserved with six panels each of seven roses on a seeded ground, within elaborate gilt cartouches comprising leaf and foliate scrolls, vines and bell flowers.
