Pennington, Seth (Produced porcelain from Liverpool from 1778-1803.)

Bowl, soft-paste porcelain, high straight-sided foot-rim and rounded sides; the exterior sides of the bowl covered with an underglaze dark blue ground overpainted with a trellis pattern in gilt against which are reserved five round panels left in the white and enclosed by gilt borders, these panels delicately painted in polychrome enamels with clusters of different fruit, flowers and foliage, a further larger cluster of fruit, flowers and foliage to the interior bottom of the bowl, to the upper part of the interior sides the same dark blue ground with gilt trellis pattern bordered at the bottom by a waving gilt band, gilt bands around the middle of the foot-rim and around the lower body, a gilt dentil edge to the exterior lip-rim. A crack to one side of the bowl.
