Roman samian bowl
The decoration consists of a series of four petalled rosettes with tiny blurred rosettes, probably seven pointed, between the petals and at the centre. The large rosettes are probably composite, rather than a single stamp, though the two remaining on this sherd match closely. The small "filler" rosettes are certainly separate. Knorr 1952, Taf. 8, A and B (BASSI.OF) have similar decoration, though the rosettes are larger than ours.
