Seal impression: Canterbury Episcopal
Below a gothic-type triple canopy, God the Father supports His crucified Son, upon whose head the Holy Spirit descends as a dove (the Blessed Trinity); in each side niche, an archbishop, probably St. Augustine and St. Thomas a Beckett: in the upper canopy, the Virgin and Child: in side niches, an angel. In base, within an arch, the bishop kneels in prayer; to either side, a shield: dext. a pallium charged with indistinct crosses formy fitchy, and in centre chief (?) a cross formy fitchy. CANTERBURY; sin. on a chevron a mitre, within a border engrailed, for a difference, STAFFORD.
