Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1959, containing notes by Sarah Holland Miles, who was born in Llanharan in 1872. The notes give information about sayings, traditional medicines and proverbs from the Llanharan area and were accumulated during her lifetime. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum in 1958 to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
