Pennal letter (replica)
Replica of one of the Pennal letters from Owain Glyndwr to King Charles VI of France dated 1406. Made by the National Library of Wales.
Actual size with a replica of the great seal of Owain Glyndwr. It was produced from a digital scan provided by the Archives Nationales de France who hold the original document and seal. (Their accession number J.516.A.29).
The laser scan was pronted onto goat skin vellum provided by the English vellum maker. The final replica was hand-finished to replicate stains and creases. One of six copies made.
