Jug, earthenware, standing on a rounded spreading foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, angular scrolled handle; the exterior of the jug covered with silver lustre against which are reserved to either side of the body two round panels transfer-printed in black and in-filled in polychrome enamels with a chinoiserie-style scene showing figures in a garden setting with benches and flowering plants, the silver lustre areas decorated using silver lustre resist techniques with to the front of the body a stylized flower head surrounded by foliate sprays, further foliate sprays to the body around the handle, a pattern of oval-shaped motifs to the neck, two white bands around the shoulder, a foliate motif to the underside of the spout, two white stripes to the handle, a silver lustre band around the interior lip-rim and spout.
