Music sheet
Novello, Ivor (Born on 15 January 1893 at Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff.)
Music sheet for Ivor Novello’s song ‘Till the Boys Come Home (Keep the Homes-Fires Burning)’ composed by Novello in 1914, and is the song that made him famous. Initially published in 1914 as ‘Till the Boys Come Home’, a new edition printed in 1915 switched the title to ‘Keep the Home-Fires Burning’. This song expressed the feelings of many families during the First World War. This edition is undated, but probably dates to early 1915, as on the back cover it mentions Novello’s new song ‘Laddie in Kharki (the Girl who Waits at Home)’ that was first published in early 1915.
