Early Bronze Age flat axe
The sides of the axe are divergent and slightly concave in plan, with slightly greater curvature near the blade end. The axe has a thin tapering butt in section and a slightly rounded end in plan view. The sides of the axe are rounded rather than squared, and are unflanged. The surface is largely covered with a green carbonate deposit; c. 0.5-1.0 mm thick. The surface appears to have been coated with a clear shiny varnish.
