Roman copper alloy spoon probe
Spoon-probe. Shaft decorated with ridge-and-groove at the spoon end. End of spoon missing. Spoon-probes appear to have had a number of probable uses: the preparartion of medicines and ointments; the application of make up; and as a tool of the surgeon.
