Tapestry panel
Tapestry of a kermesse (village fete), woven at the Brussels workshop of Pieter Van den Hecke, mid-18th century. The design was based on the work of the Flemish painter, David Teniers (1610-90). Depicts villagers ('peasants') dancing to the music of a fiddler, and a couple in the foreground, and others to the right, dancing a la ronde.
The tapestry was owned by the Windsor-Clive family, and was probably brought to St Fagans Castle by Robert Windsor-Clive in about 1850.
