Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Lobster Sauce' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a cat upon a window sill with one paw caught between the pincers of a lobster, a large fish lies to one side, the scene extends to the rim of the lid with no border. The pot-lid is mounted for display within a closely fitting circular wooden frame painted black.
