Waist wheel
A small hand tool used for marking a pattern on the welt of a shoe or boot. The tool comprises of a small metal wheel with a patterned edge mounted in a forked carriage, set in a wooden handle. The wheel would be heated and pushed along the surface of the leather, known as 'crowing'.
