Roman copper alloy die (dice)

The plural of die is dice, but dice is also used colloquially as the singular for a die. The numbers on the dice are represented by drilled dots, each with concentric circles around. The ring-and-dot markings are somewhat irregularly placed. As today, opposite sides of the die add up to seven, so a 1 is opposite a 6, a 2 is opposite a 5, and a 3 is opposite a 4.
