Mug, whitish stoneware, inset base, cylindrical sides, scrolled foliate moulded handle with raised thumb-spur, an engine-turned woven pattern around the lower body; the exterior of the body covered with a blue slip which has then been sprigged in white clay with around the body reliefs of "a fox hunt at a kill" showing figures, horses and hounds attacking a fox, to the front of the body the initials "JW" in yellow enamel, smear-glazed.
