Kettle and cover
Weesp (fl.1759-1770)
Chocolate kettle, circular, standing on a shallow foot rim, bulging sides, spout with head of crested bird, mahogany bail handle on brass supports, slightly domed cover with applied pear finial; body decorated in polychrome enamels on one side with a spray of mixed purple flowers and a blue flowered sprig, and on the other with a spray of flower, a blue flowered sprig and a purple flowered sprig, spout decorated in green and purple, cover decorated with three miniature sprays arranged in a circle, around painted finial.
