Tray, iron-plate, oval form with straight flaring sides, curved hand-holes cut into the narrower ends; covered all over with a black japan, decorated with to the centre of the well an oval reserve painted in colours with the figures of a mother and child, the reserve framed by a gilt border of looping lines, vine leaves and grapes, the rim decorated in gilt with a border of alternate panels of a lattice design and the stormont pattern with flower heads.
