Sycamore butter print from Penarth, south Wales, 1800s.
Butter prints were used to stamp butter ready for the market and the craft of carving the prints was common to many countries.
Knobbed detachable handle; 8-pointed leaf pattern star motif with an incised triple cross pattern between each point; within a wide flanged border.
