Mesolithic antler object
A strip of cut-marked antler.It is plit fromt he original bone by chipping along one edge. One end is smooth and rounded and has a high polish on the inside and a less intense polish on the outside. At this end the external surface also shows abrasion along the long axis of the piece. Als the same end there are also cut marks or abrasion marks at right angles to the axis of the piece. There are fifteen fine, pronounced cut marks on one 15.7cm long edge regularly spaced at an average interval of 1cm. These are to fine to represent deliberate decoration.
