Iron Age pottery vessel
Rim, wall and base sherds of a wide-mouthed, straight sided jar with everted square-sectioned rim and vestigal shoulder. Below the rim the decoration consists of deep, diagonal incisions arranged in a concentric inverted V - motif. Four sherds of this pot had been widely dispersed and were found 140ft. to the south (BVIII, BXIX & BXII) and 80ft. to the north (CXI). The decoration can be paralleled from Sudbrook.
