Bradawl
A short tool used for boring pilot holes in wood for nails or screws. The blade is short and round with a chisel point. A bolstered tang at the other end of the blade is in a tuned wooden handle, with a metal ferrule. To use the bradawl, the chisel end was placed across the grain then twisted back and forth, squeezing it apart.
