Medieval copper alloy harness pendant
The harness pendant is shield-shaped and is complete but has poor surface preservation. The loop is at right angles to the pendant (and has a length of 11m, a depth of 7.5mm, a thickness of 3.2mm). The interior of the loop is filled with iron corrosion, presumably the remnants of the hinge. The pendant is shield-shaped (36mm x 25.8mm) and is convex across its length with very little of the heraldic device surviving. There is the suggestion of a possible lion, rampant or similar device, although any identification is speculative. No traces of enamel survive and the surface of the pendant has largely been lost. Two small areas of gilding survive at the top of the shield.
