Mug, cylindrical in shape, very slightly flaring towards base, reeded handle and flat, wide foot rim; decorated with an underglaze blue transfer print depicting the beheading of King Louis XVI of France, including an executioner and two male onlookers, above this scene the inscription is located in a stylised banner with rose terminals at the left and right sides, the handle and inner rim are printed with geometric/floral designs, the mug has a pearl glaze that is pooling slightly in the base of the foot rim.
