The lower bow has a central rib which divides at the top and runs down on either side as a zig-zag line. The foot is circular in section with a series of ridge-and-groove motifs above it, and at the very end a short globular-headed spike projects. The catchplate is short with an angular turnover decorated with two incised lines at the top. At the back of the head is a pierced circular lug for the spring mechanism. Complete apart from the pin which is completely missing including all of the spring.
