The Pier Walk is an ancient University tradition in which all students can take part. St Andrews. Scotland

HURN David

Full title: The Pier Walk is an ancient University tradition in which all students can take part. On Sundays (and some special occasions), students meet in St Salvator’s Quad before walking down to the harbour wearing their gowns – the reason for this custom is lost in the mists of time! Gowns encouraged but not compulsory.

IRELAND. Killarney. Visually the most Irish part of Ireland. The coast around Slea Head is one of the most beautiful in Ireland. It is full of little coves where locals will go for an afternoon by the sea with their families. Seldom a tourist in sight. 1984.
