Roman copper alloy brooch
Two piece brooch. The spring is held in place by means of an axial bar which passes through pierced discoid terminals to the rather scruffy side wings and by means of a forward hook which emerges from the head to secure the external chord. The bow is of flat rectangular cross-section and in profile descibes an angle close to the head. It is broad at the top and tapers towards the foot. Down the centre of the bow is indented ?beaded ornament set within longitudinal lines.
