A tool for boring into wood, consisting of a chuck or pad for holding the bit at the foot, a crank for rotating, and a head at the top for hand-hold.The head and the handle are of wood, the crank and chuck of steel. The jaws for holding the drill bit in place are opened and closed by turning the hollow, screwed shell chuck.
