Washing dolly
Upright turned pole fitted into a circular 'stool' with 4 legs fitted into a circular base.
These 19th century implements were used widely throughout Wales and were operated in wooden or zinc tubs. The plunging, stirring, pounding actions assisted in working the soapy water though the clothes and in ridding them of dirt.
