Cup, custard, cover and saucer
Custard cup, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a greenish tinge to the glaze, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, bulbous body sloping inwards towards at the shoulder before flaring out slightly to the lip-rim, plain loop handle, round domed cover with a ball finial to the top; decorated with around the exterior upper body of the cup and the rim of the cover an ornamental border in brown enamel and gilt in imitation of an inlaid pattern with a gilt foliate wreath against a band of shaded brown panels and arching brown bands above and below, a brown line around the foot-rim, the handle edged in brown, a brown dot to the top of the finial. The foot-rim of the cover chipped, a crack to one side of the body of the cup. Saucer, pale cream coloured earthenware with a greenish tinge to the glaze, a cylindrical sunken well to hold the cup and curving sides; decorated in brown enamel and gilt with around the rim the same ornamental border as on the cup, a brown line around the edge of the well. The base of the well broken and repaired.
