Figure of Christmas Evans, white earthenware, blue tinge to the crackled glaze and patch of grit adhering on the back, pedestal base, with chamfered edge and canted corners to front, inscribed in raised capitals, the back curved, standing figure with his left arm leaning on two books lying on a triangular fielded pedestal, the right arm holding another book across his chest, dressed in black tailed coat edged in gold, waistcoat and breeches, and white stockings, naturalistically painted face, one eye closed, bare-headed, with grey hair.
