Large vase, hard-paste porcelain, ovoid form with a flared neck; densely patterned in underglaze blue and enamels, pale green ground colour with an all-over pattern of scrolling yellow foliage, orange and gilt chrysanthemums with dark green foliage to body; decorative motifs in underglaze blue, red enamel and gilt, of a large mons to either side of a red and gilt pheonix, and various smaller mons geometrically patterned including alternate red and blue diaper painted with gilt flowerheads, 8 segments four of red gilt and white diaper alternating with a gilt floral motif on a blue ground, and red gilt and blue chevrons; ring of gilt jui around shoulder with scroll and orange chrysanthemum decoration; blue ground with gilt scrolls to neck, band of pendant red and white lappets around rim painted with floral motifs above a secondary band of red white and gilt scaled lappets; pattern inside rim of red and gilt flowerheads and foliage.
