Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Meeting of Garibaldi and Victor Emmanuel' (although this exact title is not recorded on the lid), showing an Italianate landscape with two male figures in military uniform on horseback shaking hands, further military figures, one holding a flag, look on, around the top of the scene is the inscription "VICTOR EMMANUEL AND GARIBALDI", the print enclosed by a narrow circular line border. The glaze crazed.
