Site Name: Northfleet, Kent
Date: 19th century, Late
Notes: "When Whites stopped Dearden's contract for sand etc at Graylands, Northfleet (next Greenhithe) he opened out another pit at Ingress Vale Road close to the railway arch on the opposite side of the valley, see map. This sand is white and in places has a great profusion of shells, bones, teeth etc. I did not visit it till March 1900. See Athanaeum July 20 20 1900." (Mr Stopes papers)
