Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Pen tray, soft-paste porcelain with a white translucency; elongated oval shape with flat unglazed base and deep curved sides; painted inside with a central reserve of a flower spray, and four oval reserves around the edge, on an orange ground with gilt foliate scrolls; exterior decorated with a gilt dotted border below lip, enclosed by alternating c-scrolls, with dotted scrolls below and c-scroll cartouches enclosing a cross and four dotted circles; plain gilt band to foot rim and lip.
