Saucer of soft-paste porcelain with creamy translucency and 'moons' (spots of lighter translucency); opaque creamy glaze, extensively crazed; standing on a tapering ground footrim, with fluted curved sides and scalloped rim (one large chip); decorated with two panels each with a scalloped border of red and blue lines and each containing a Meissen-style painted view of a quayside with boats, figures, ruins (one view has classical ruins and a pyramid) and buildings across water in the distance; across the middle, two insects between flower sprays, the rim edged with a chocolate brown line.
