Chair
Open back with four vertical slats decorated with diamond within zig-zag border in ? poker work. (One rail repaired). Upper back rail carved with tulip in relief and with scroll cresting. Turned uprights with knob finials. Seat and seat rails moulded on edges. Front legs and stretcher turned. Four side stretchers and back stretcher plain.
Nannau high back chair showing carving c.1690-1710. The criss-cross pattern on the back of the chair has been scratched carved using a knife. Other chairs of the same style and period have this particular patterned carving, which echos the fashion for caned seats and backs on chairs of this period.
