Figure group of Welsh Fisherman (right) and Wife (left), white earthenware with a slightly blue tinted crackle glaze, standing on an elongated irregularly shaped oval base with a gilt line round. Man in black shoes, white stockings, pink breeches, long underglaze blue coat with gilt detailing, long white waistcoat decorated with slanting parallel rust and black stripes and tied with a gilt bow, white shirt, naturalistically painted face, brown hair and holding with his left arm a yellow, oval, basket on his head containing red spotted grey fish, and with a further deeper yellow oval wicker basket by his left foot also containg fish, right arm loosely bent. Wife in black shoes, white stockings, full calf length skirt decorated with purple vertical stripes, apron decorated with vertical stripes in rust alternating with stripes of gold dots, green jacket with a short wide skirt, brown hair, head muffled in a purple scarf, under a wide black hat with a high tapering crown, resting a yellow basket containing fish, on her right hip and supporting it with both hands.
